Professional lighting installation is the process of designing, wiring, and mounting light fixtures to meet both aesthetic and code-compliant electrical requirements. At B&M Electrical Services, every installation, recessed cans, track lighting, pendants, under-cabinet LEDs, or exterior security fixtures, is laid out to maximize light distribution, wired to current NEC standards, and tested under load before we leave. LED retrofits are one of our most-requested upgrades: modern LED fixtures consume up to 75% less energy than incandescent alternatives, produce better color accuracy (measured in CRI), and last 25,000–50,000 hours versus approximately 1,000 hours for a standard incandescent bulb. We use IC-rated housings in insulated ceilings, confirm proper box fill on every circuit, and match dimmer trailing-edge or leading-edge profiles to the LED driver, so the result is a lighting system that performs correctly, stays safe, and won't flicker or buzz at low levels.

Smart lighting systems replace standard wall switches with Wi-Fi or radio-frequency dimmers and controllers that integrate with apps, voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Google Home), and automation schedules. The critical technical requirement is matching the dimmer's profile to the LED driver, a leading-edge dimmer on a trailing-edge LED driver causes flickering and buzzing at low levels, which is why brand-specific compatibility matters. For outdoor and landscape lighting, we run low-voltage wiring in weatherproof conduit to NEC wet-location standards, protect all exterior circuits with GFCI protection, and connect photocell or smart-timer controls for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. A typical residential landscape lighting system draws 0.5–1.5 amps per zone, well within most panel headroom and easily integrated with solar-charge controllers where applicable.

Barrett came out and gave me a good price on the work. They replaced my electrical panel and installed a disconnect for my AC unit.
